The Bailiff/ Court Security / Civil Division

The bailiffs, court security and civil division is charged with maintaining proper courtroom decorum and procedure during the various proceedings coming before the four judges and two hearing officers currently assigned to Sumter County.
This includes assisting the safety of judicial personnel, assistants, other related courthouse facility personnel, and the general public.
Bailiffs are also responsible for entry equipment, X-ray machines and metal detectors in the Judicial Center.
When various courts and judges are not is session, certain sworn officers are then responsible for serving civil process, summons, subpoenas, and warrants in Sumter County.
