Internal Affairs Division

The Internal Affairs unit has the following purpose within the Sumter County Sheriff's Office:

  • Protection of the Public
  • Protection of the Department
  • Protection of the Employee
  • Identification and Removal of Personnel who are unift to serve in our profession
  • Identification and correction of procedural problems

It is the policy of the Sumter County Sheriff's Office to fully investigate and resolve complaints against the agency or its employees as determined by the Sheriff.

 

Public Information Officer

The Public Information Officer is charged with the dissemination of information from the Sumter County Sheriffs Office to communicate and/or educate the citizens of Sumter County. The Public Information Officer is the official liaison of the Sumter County Sheriffs Office to the news media and the community.
